Education by region

Education and training survey, 2017 (1438–1439 AH) — old. Literacy of people aged 15 and over (and of women), the net enrolment rate at each stage (those of the stage’s age who are enrolled in it), and the mean years of schooling of people aged 25 and over. The lowest female literacy in this survey is in Jazan. The rates are our calculation on the numerators and denominators GASTAT published, and Saudi Arabia is the sum of the regions.

These are 2017 figures: one survey years ago, and GASTAT has not published literacy or enrolment by region in its database since. They show the differences between regions at the time, not today.

Life expectancy at birth for Saudis, and the total fertility rate (average births per woman over her reproductive years if the year’s rates held), GASTAT estimates from 2011 (1432–1433 AH) to 2022 (1443–1444 AH).
