Ministry of Health: the Statistical Yearbook
The Ministry’s Statistical Yearbook is listed in its open data library. We take from it the series GASTAT does not publish: hospitals and beds by sector over five years, primary care centres by Ministry branch, and health workers since 2017.

Updates: at source and on our side
- The Ministry publishes the yearbook once a year (an Excel file). The 2024 file was last modified at the Ministry on 20 October 2025 (28 Rabi' al-Akhir 1447 AH).
- We download it by hand when a new yearbook appears, keep it as published in our archive, and the cleaner re-checks every table before writing: the three sectors add up to the total, the branches add up to the total, and the Ministry and private-sector totals in the branch tables match the general table.
Limits
- The Ministry’s 20 branches are not the 13 administrative regions, so we do not show them as regions.
- The yearbook states that workforce figures from 2024 come from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, so the move from 2023 to 2024 is not all growth.
- The figures count facilities, beds and workers, not the size or quality of services.
- For 2024 GASTAT publishes regional figures sourced from the Ministry; private-sector beds in Jazan are 252 there and 250 in the yearbook.
Reuse terms
- The yearbook is listed in the Ministry’s open data library, and its open data usage policy allows free reuse provided the source is named, the portal is linked, and the data and its source are not distorted.
- We show its figures on free pages only, as published, with no calculation of our own.
