General Authority for Statistics data
The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) is the official source of statistics in Saudi Arabia, and from it we build the denominator for every spending figure: how many residents, how much a household spends, how much prices rose. Here is what we have collected from it as published, with its coverage and release date, and its files for download.

How we handle GASTAT data
- As published: we do not change a figure; we unify the format and calculate rates of change, and we say so.
- By region, not by city where GASTAT publishes that way (consumer prices, household income), and by city where it does (2022 census).
- A source and a date for every figure: GASTAT’s release date in Gregorian and Hijri, and any indicator we build on top of it is labelled as our own work, not an official statistic.
- Weekly spending by city and activity comes from the Saudi Central Bank; these pages complement it.
